Some Popular Techniques & Finishes We Use
Tomp L'oeil
This style of painting is known  for the illusion it creates. These paintings are supposed to 'trick' the eye, the viewer is tricked into believing that what they are seeing is real, when in reality it is a superb creation of the artist, and is a mere painting. These paintings are fun to do, and the more detail, the better. The paintings can be whatever you choose them to be, sci-fi or based on reality. The sky's the limit, roof's are great places too!

Plaster / Venetian
Turning that common wall texture into a plaster surface produces stunning results in seconds. Using a plain plaster, and adding various colors gives you an old world Tuscan charm that is truly amazing. Add a little color for a subtle effect, or more color/s for a more dramatic effect. This is perfect for stone or a plaster finish. The varying color throughout the space makes this a truly incredible surface.

Tissue Paper Aplique
This is a type of finish that will go right over your existing wall surface. In this process we would take torn paper, from varying thicknesses depending upon your design of course, and applying it with a transparent glue/glaze. This will provide an instant 'old' and 'worn' feel to your wall's or halls. A beautiful texture that can turn an ordinary wall texture into a spectacular one! Almost like a leather surface and feel with a solid color paper, or a very unusual and unique design with patterned paper. Whatever you choose, the results are truly stunning.

Sponging
The artist at Klassik Keepsakes use large natural sea sponges to obtain this finish. This is one of the oldest faux finishes, and I dare say, one of the best. It is very versatile and attractive. A subtle stippled effect, with the correct color choices this can bring a room together. Sponging positive is adding a glaze to a contrasting color or sponging negative is removing glaze from a color. Either way this sponging effect will turn your room into a masterpiece.

Ragging
For Klassik Keepsakes to complete this effect, we use a variety of materials wrapped around either a standard or foam roller. Materials such as bubble wrap, a large rag, terry or cheese cloth, plastic sheeting, anything to give a unique and creative look. This is a fun finish if you're looking for artful chaos!

Combing & Dragging
This is a favorite of Klassik Keepsakes Artists. This finish can be as bold or as subtle as you want. Large or small scale, contemporary or traditional, whatever result you're after we can get it from using our ticked out tools.

Flogging
This is a great finish, you get a wide range of looks with all of the different kinds of tools we here at Klassik Keepsakes use. Anything from wheel brushes, mops, feather dusters, toilet bowl brushes, to you name it. This is a seriously fun way to get a mottled or stippled look, and at the same time get a good workout!

Washing
This finish is fabulous if your looking for a weathered, sun bleached background. Let Klassik Keepsakes turn your room into one washed in soft hues of the same color, providing you a warm aged antiqued look.

Chambray & Denim

The artist at Klassik Keepsakes create this finish by first dragging down the wall, and then across it. Creating the look of a woven comfortable fabric. This finish by itself is a bit informal and fun, a great technique for any color you choose.

Rustic & Tuscan
This is by far my favorite, I love the rich warmness this finish wraps you in. Klassik Keepsakes can create this subtle mottled background and add that touch of 'old world charm' to your longing for.

Stripes, Diamonds & Blocks
Don't freak out! Stripes, Diamonds & Blocks can be really awesome and very versatile. They can be subtle or a very powerful dramatic backdrop. Painting stripes vertically is a super way to visually 'raise the roof' on low ceilings. Or let Klassik Keepsakes emphasize the size of the room by horizontal stripes and diamonds. Combine another finish such as stripes within stripes, or using a combing technique within random diamonds provides you a stunning backdrop. Lets not forget blocks, they can be fun especially when using tone on tone and metallic paints.  This style is precise and graphic and is a great way to add color to your environment without spending a ton of money. Making the stripes & diamonds large  and adding blocks of color randomly gives you the color you desire without breaking the bank.

Multi-Hue Wash
For Klassik Keepsakes to achieve this particular finish, we like to use no more than 3 colors, blending them into a soft subtle haze, or a beautifully bold dramatic one. A stunning combination, these 'floating' colors blend and flow together resulting in a background which is perfect for a focal point or large prominent wall.

Leather
This is another favorite of Klassik Keepsakes. A rich organic look that makes you want to reach out and touch it. This finish is great for libraries or studies, and perfect if you're going for that western theme.

Wood Grain
Well just like it sounds, after Klassik Keepsakes paints this on your walls, it's like we've put up oak paneling instead. This finish is great for small areas, and accents. We like to use it for faux frames, wainscot & mantles. It's a great way to get that wood look without the expense and time of actual wood paneling.

Marble
This is a beautiful rich finish that the artist at Klassik Keepsakes pride themselves on. The effects are so realistic that you'll be able to hold your sample up in front of it, and watch it fade into the background. It is a time consuming finish, but the results are worth the wait, and the sky's the limit. There are so many differences in marbles, each unique, find one you love and we'll replicate it for you.

Stencils
Yes, the 's' word. But don't be afraid. Let Klassik Keepsakes add that something special with your favorite stencil. By adding a drywall compound we raise the design combining visual techniques with a physical one. This effect is truly stunning and adds that little bit of dimension to your focal wall or a particular area you want to draw attention too.  This technique is also great to use as a border at the top of your walls, defining this area and raising your eye replacing costly crown molding with beautifully raised & highlighted design.
